Welcome

The Victorian Legal Services Board and Commissioner (VLSB+C) invites you to ICLR + CORO, the first-ever combined International Conference of Legal Regulators and Conference of Regulatory Officers.

Join us from 16 to 18 October 2024 on the lands of the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung People in Melbourne, Australia, to be part of the conversation about Regulating from Different Perspectives.

This theme connects the wide range of issues facing legal regulators globally including access to justice, using research and data to inform improved practice, diversity, the rule of law, consumer-centricity, and lawyer wellbeing.

We’ll also bring a focus to AI, with the industry-leading Professor Edward Santow – co-founder of the Human Technology Institute at the University of Technology, Sydney – to engage with us on ethical AI and legal regulation.

In another first, this year we’ve extended the Conference to three days. We know there is a strong desire to come together, form connections, and share knowledge and best practice in response to the challenges and opportunities we encounter as leaders in legal regulation.

The program will include a mix of plenary sessions, break-outs to go deeper, and workshops to build skills and tools – all presented by a mix of local and international speakers.

I encourage you to regularly return to this site for updates on the program.

On behalf of the VLSB+C, I look forward to welcoming you to the superb Langham hotel in Melbourne this October, for an unprecedented meeting of the international body of legal regulators, and its regional Australian and New Zealand peers.
